Unnayan believes in an integrated, participatory and process oriented approach to development. Capacity building of the community with an approach of helping-for-self-help essentially forms the core of its activities. Unnayan believes in a development perspective of meeting peoples’ needs in the sectors of institution building, access and control over resources, entitlement over services, acquisition and adoption of new knowledge, skill and technology for a switch over from relative marginalization to a self-reliant livelihood maintenance system. While addressing the societal needs from a holistic perspective, our programmes encompass an increased focus on Women, children, tribal and dalit communities.
